Group piano lessons have many benefits. It is a fantastic class that determines musical talent and aptitude, develops piano-playing skills and fundamentals. Especially beneficial for young students who may not yet developed the maturity needed to fully benefit private lessons. Group piano lessons help to develop memory and logical-thinking skills which help overall school performance! Students are able to play duet and group pieces, helping develop social skills. This class is suitable for ANY level of student. Activities include but not limited to: learning musical alphabet, music theory, reading music. During this course students will explore solo songs as well as duets with a piano instructor and classmates. Each student is provided with a keyboard, headphones and a piano book. Students that took piano before will continue from where they left off and learn a lot of advanced songs! Our piano instructors are very warm, supportive and inspiring. They provide fun musicianship activities to have students engaged in the class. At the end of each term we hold an Open Class where parents are be able to observe what students learned in class. In this hands-on approach to music theory, Pre-K age children and up explore musical concepts such as meter, tempo, phrase, form and dynamics through rhythm games, creative movement, songs, stories, ear training, sight-singing and improvisation. Dalcroze is an ideal complement to instrumental lessons, or, for younger children, preparation for studying an instrument. The Dalcroze Method was developed in the early 20th century by the Swiss composer, musician and educator Emile Jaques-Dalcroze, who believed that rhythm is a vital element of the teaching of music. Known as “music training through movement,” Dalcroze uses the body to develop a strong musical foundation and natural feel for music. Once thought of as avant-garde, Dalcroze eurhythmics has influenced the fields of music, dance, theater, therapy and education for more than a century!
